Backyard Oasis

This client approached us with the task of creating a backyard space that would tie together both a pool and pool house that he was currently having installed. We were asked to create a concept that would feature different zones, ranging from formal to natural. The result was a formal upper patio area that featured a striking mosaic of porcelain tile and a wedding-cake staircase leading to the pool deck. The pool deck was comprised of a neutral, contemporary patio slab that would direct attention towards the pool and water features. Beyond the pool deck was two staircases constructed out of natural Pennsylvania fieldstone that lead to the top of the pool waterfall. The surrounding landscape featured mass plantings of native specimens to frame in the project area, giving the large area a secluded and intimate feel.
